Eastern Controls - Engineering Application Specialist

Eastern Controls Inc., a manufacturer's representative partner of Endress+Hauser Inc., is looking for a passionate Engineering Application Specialist to join their team in Edgemont, PA. This role is customer-facing, technically minded and works directly with their Outside Sales team and manufacturers to craft solutions to some of their customers' greatest process challenges.

Role + Responsibilties

• Provides in-depth product and applications knowledge as well as sales support.
• Responsible for creating an exceptional experience with an assigned customer base. Build and maintain relationships with customers.
• Primary duties include all quotations and responses to technical questions along with proposal development for single item and large projects.
• Daily interaction with customers, inside and outside staff, manufacturing partners, etc.
• You are THE customer advocate for Eastern Controls and our manufacturing partners.
• Act as a solutions facilitator: advise customer on correct solution specific to their process and work with outside sales on pricing to win customer’s business.
• Clearly communicate with customer from start to finish.
• Recognize where supplemental/ additional equipment can be added on to an existing RFQ.
  

Quailification + Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or Business & Engineering (Sales, Technical Sales, Entrepreneurship), or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1-3 years’ experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and CRM platform.
• Familiarity with the Process Industry and/or Electrical Heat Trace – working with end users, integrators, and/or engineering firm- a plus.
• Technical aptitude – knowledge of instrumentation, gas detection, and/or valves is a major plus.
• Professional sales acumen – consistently striving to grow and develop business opportunities assisting Outside Sales Representatives.
• Living within a commutable distance of our main office in Edgemont, PA is highly preferred.
• A passion and energy for helping customers succeed.
• Curiosity to learn Eastern Controls’ product portfolio to help provide the best solutions for customer needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
