Co-Op: Continuous Improvement - Beltsville, MD

What you’ll do:


Position Overview:

This is a co-op intern position whereby you will be charged with supporting the site’s continuous improvement efforts. The successful person in this role will support continuous improvement action items from kaizen events, assist with programming Keyence inspection machines, and collect inspection data to create statistical process charts.

In this function you will:


  • Work closely with CI manager, operations team, and Quality team.
  • Learn new technologies and implement process changes.
  • Collect data and use it to create statistical process charts.
  • Reinforce training from kaizen events.
  • Follow up on identified action items.

Qualifications:


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree is currently in progress from an accredited institution
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of Beltsville, MD.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round).
  • This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Engineering classwork experience
  • Basic levels of coding experience

Skills:


  • Written & Verbal Communication Skills in person & virtual
  • Presentation experience
  • Strong relationship building skills with operators
  • Strong interpersonal skills
