Location: Gloucester Business Park (hybrid working arrangements) with travel to project offices in London and Aztec West for collaboration.
Employment type: Permanent full-time/ part-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be a full-time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part- time approach where possible.
Salary: From £64,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We're currently look for a Hazards Safety Case Engineer to join our expanding team! In this role you'll tackle complex challenges head-on, providing solutions that support the construction, commissioning, and operation of cutting-edge new nuclear reactors.
The Role
We're looking for a Hazards Safety Case Engineer to play a crucial role in shaping the safety assessment of internal and external hazards for the Sizewell C project. You’ll own the nuclear site's safety case and focus on hazard assessment leading the coordination and resolution of key site-specific challenges. The role will involve developing complex and novel safety cases to reduce risks at the Sizewell C site to ALARP levels.
You’ll act as the Intelligent Customer on behalf of the licensee and have the opportunity to engage with and influence a diverse range of stakeholders. You’ll be involved in assessing the quality and adequacy of safety case deliverables, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance.
A key part of your role as Hazards Safety Case Engineer will be communicating with stakeholders to explain how the power station is protected from faults and hazards. Therefore, stakeholder engagement is an important skill, as well as collaborating within Sizewell C and with external parties.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the safety of next-generation reactors and contribute to a world-class nuclear safety framework on the Sizewell C project.
