Electrician

The Facilities Development & Operations Department is looking for a Locksmith Lead to join their team. The person in this position will have the responsibility to lead qualified locksmiths on a project or at a job location, to instruct other workers, to correct and specify methods, and to perform work in the repair, installation, and construction of locking devices and keys.

Compensation begins at $4,216 - $4,777/month (DOE), along with a benefits package that includes:

The Locksmith Lead’s required qualifications include:

  • Three years' full-time work experience as a locksmith, or equivalent education combined with work experience
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment of locksmith trade; types, functions, and operations of lock sets; key blanks; safety precautions; and record keeping
  • Ability to repair, install and construct locks and locking devices; make keys; estimate materials and personnel needed to complete project; supervise crew of locksmiths or helpers

Additional required skills and knowledge:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license (or ability to obtain one prior to starting work)
  • Experience working in sensitive situations such as operational offices, classrooms, dorm rooms, rest rooms, etc
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a friendly and cooperative manner with students, staff, and faculty at all levels of the organization and in contacts with the public
