Responsibilities:
The Emergency Services Technician will work Part Time, Various Shifts & Weekends and will be measured by direct or indirect supervisory observation and/or co-worker feedback, the successful incumbent demonstrates skills in the following duties and responsibilities. Examples of these include, but are not limited to the following:

Under the guidance and direction of the RN, provide care and services, such as, Obtain and record vital signs and label specimens.

Perform EKG.
-
Performs telemetry, Phlebotomy.
-
The Emergency Services Technician will assist with the unit's admission and discharge processes.
-
Communicates written and verbal information to health care team members.
-
The Emergency Services Technician responds to patient requests and/or call light Assists with restrained patients according to established policy and directed by RN.
-
Notify the RN and health care team immediately of any observed changes in the patient condition.
-
The Emergency Services Technician perform patient treatments assigned by the RN and other health care team members.
-
Perform activities of daily living appropriate to patient condition.
-
Actively participate in maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
-
Uses proper body mechanics, obtains help and/or uses appropriate equipment when lifting, moving or transferring patients from bed to chair, putting them on stretchers and assisting them into wheelchairs.

The Emergency Services Technician demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide the care appropriate to the age of the patient served.

Establish and maintain good communication with patients, families/visitors and hospital staff.

Show initiative in requesting additional tasks when assigned work is completed.

The Emergency Services Technician answers telephone in a timely, courteous manner, and relays messages to appropriate personnel.

Transcribes provider orders timely and accurately.

Maintains the patient medical record according to unit and organizational standards

Schedules procedures, follow-up appointments, and communicates plans to the health care team.

The Emergency Services Technician orders needed unit supplies and maintains adequate inventory.

Perform related duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:

1 year of patient experience preferred.
Certification:
