What your days might look like

Reporting to our Senior Content Marketing Manager ANZ, this pivotal parental leave cover will help us scale our sales and marketing engine in the region and establish us a market leader. We're seeking a Senior Content Marketing Specialist (NZ) who will turn a range of topics and insights into well-researched and impactful content. We have some big growth plans in New Zealand for 2024/25 and are looking for someone to help us achieve them.

We are deeply passionate about supporting our community of SME employers, HR professionals, payroll experts, industry partners, and employees. Our audience is core to our mission to make employment easier and more valuable for all, and you will need to demonstrate deep empathy when producing resources and campaigns for them. Experience working closely with designers and performance teams on bringing creative and bold campaigns to life will be important.

This role is a full-time 8 month parental leave cover.

As our Senior Content Marketing Specialist, you’ll

  • Write and publish content aimed at driving leads, opportunities and recurring revenue from new customers.
  • Research topics and create engaging and compelling written content for SMEs, HR Professionals and Payroll Professionals, including blog posts, reports, templates, and white-papers.
  • Stay up to date with trends within the HR and employment law space in New Zealand, and be able to write about them confidently.
  • Work with internal subject matter experts, lawyers, insights managers and the growth marketing team to develop a strong understanding of the content you’re writing.
  • Work with our internal design and creative teams to make your content multimedia-friendly, engaging and optimised for each channel.
  • Ensure our brand guidelines, including tone of voice, values and visual identity are adhered to.
  • Continuously assess and report on the results of campaigns and implement improvements where necessary.

What you will bring?

  • Proven content writing or marketing experience (minimum 3) in a marketing, media or agency environment.
  • Excellent writing, editorial and grammar skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to research and write compelling and clear content that will resonate with our audience.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of New Zealand audiences, and be able to identify emerging content opportunities from the news cycle.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to confidently balance a localised tone of voice and the Employment Hero brand’s tone of voice.
  • Proficiency in interpreting data and insights.
  • Proficiency in reporting content and campaign effectiveness using tools like Google Analytics and Excel.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment (things can change quickly at Employment Hero!)

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with WordPress, Marketo and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Understanding of the content funnel, public relations, social media or digital advertising experience a plus.
