Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and organized Nutrition Specialist who is passionate about treating obesity as a disease to improve the myriad chronic health conditions associated with weight- including hypertension, type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea and more- to join our team. In this role, you will see patients via tele-health and work with a multidisciplinary team including Registered Dietitians and medical providers to provide best-in-class care and outcomes for your patients - communicating with them both synchronously and asynchronously. 


Minimum Qualifications
  • We are looking for those with:
  • a 4 year Nutrition and Dietetics degree, with at least 1 year experience coaching lifestyle and habit changes using nutrition and exercise. The Nutrition Specialist will work closely under a lead RD to provide evidence-based obesity science and nutrition advice.

OR
We are looking for dietitians with:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food &/or Nutritional Science.
  • Minimum 12 months of experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian, working with patients with Diabetes or other metabolic diseases a plus.
  • Current registration w/ the Commission on Dietetic Registry (CDR) in good standing.
  • Knowledge of clinical competencies based on Nutrition Care Standards of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).

For either type of applicant:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong proficiency and experience with medical technology including EMR and mobile apps.
  • Collaboration & problem solving skills required.
  • Ability to manage a large patient load and multiple touchpoints, both in face to face and app communication.
  • Strong ability to empathize and connect with patients on a regular long term basis.
  • Experience and comfortability working with our proprietary tech app.
  • Bilingual (Arabic) medical fluency is a MUST as this role starts with a primarily Arabic speaking population.


Bonus Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavior change.
  • Previous individual, small group and large group/classroom training/teaching experience.


Position Specifics:
  • Part time contractor (flexible depending on interest/availability) to potential full time salaried opportunity
  • Employee and health benefits provided with 75% time or more
  • Compensation variable on experience, credentials, and language proficiency
  • Ability to work consistent hours primarily in Pacific time zone


$30 - $40 an hour
$30-$40 per hour depending on experience.
