Health & Wellness Coordinator

Cedars of Marin provides person-centered day programs and residential opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities that inspire them to live creative, productive, healthy and joyous lives. Cedars has been supporting adults with developmental disabilities for more than 100 years.

As a vital member of the Health and Wellness team, the Coordinator will display caring, professionalism, excellent communication skills and sensitivity as you work closely with other staff to support the health and address the medical needs of our clients. This work is fun, creative, fulfilling, and challenging!

This position is full-time (Monday - Friday) and the rate of pay is $27/hour.

As a Cedars Health & Wellness Coordinator you will:

  • Maintain medical database and perform data entry.
  • Email health and behavior notes to the appropriate staff on weekly basis.
  • Prepare detailed files in advance of appointments.
  • Schedule appointments as required.
  • Transport residents to doctor and other healthcare appointments.
  • Respond to drop-in health concerns, injuries, illnesses, and emergencies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Health and Wellness offices and area.
  • Administer medication.
  • Triage phone calls concerning residents' medical concerns, and contact appropriate professionals.
  • Communicate with pharmacies and medical offices to ensure medication accuracy and documentation.
  • Communicate with family members, Cedars staff, and health care professionals.
  • Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is beneficial.
  • A strong desireto help others achieve their full potential.
  • Medical background, skills and terminology is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of email and the ability to learn to use a database.
  • Must communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • A clean California driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving, and a willingness to drive a passenger van.
  • The ability to pass a pre-hire screening including background check with the FBI and DOJ, and a pre-employment physical, including TB test.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications (or the willingness to acquire both).
  • An upbeat, positive attitude and good sense of humor are very helpful!
