Collections Manager


The Collection Manager is responsible for managing collection efforts. The primary function of the Collections Manager will include managing a portfolio of customers, collecting on delinquent accounts, reviewing, generating & analyzing reports, maintaining internal communication & updates, and providing a high level of customer service.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review, prioritize and execute on daily collection activities with the goal of reducing past dues / past due percentage
  • Ensure invoices are posted to external web portals and sufficient PO’s available
  • Collaborate with Account Managers
  • Working with billing team to contribute to financial performance of Engie Impact
  • Oversee day-to-day collections operations and processes, ensuring policies & procedures are being adhered to and followed.
  • Research and resolve unallocated payments as well as any payment or credit related discrepancies.
  • Communicate customer accounts to be turned over to Legal for collection of debt owed.
  • Generate, review, and analyze reports regarding statuses and performance metrics (DSO, bad debt, average payment terms).
  • Develop and implement process improvements and complete various projects or initiatives as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and communication with customers and internal staff and management across multiple companies and departments.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management
  • 5+ years of credit and collections management experience.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact and build strong relationships with customers and internal staff.
  • Proven success utilizing strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to drive optimal performance and key results.
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency in MS Excel with the ability to generate reports and perform pivot tables, formulas etc. and Power BI business data analytics.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and highly self-motivated with the ability to effectively lead others.
  • Analytical and numbers oriented with the ability to analyze data to strategically plan.
  • Not easily overwhelmed with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, level of accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Must be dependable and able to successfully operate independently with a high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.

    The pay range for this role is: $81,000.- 122,000.00.

    Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off and annual bonus. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/business administration or related field
  • Five-plus years collection experience in positions, preferably with multi-industry knowledge and exposure.

Work Environment

  • Typical office hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be required
  • Traveling will be required. Anticipated 10+% of time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time
  • Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents
  • Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in handwritten forms, and printed on paper
  • Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
  • Ability to lift and carry a stack of forms and documents weighing up to 15 pounds
