LAND ACQUISITION MANAGER/DIRECTOR

Irvine, CA


Position Summary:
City Ventures is looking for a highly motivated Land Acquisition Manager/Director. If you are a self-starter and want to procure new land acquisition opportunities for ground-up development of residential projects throughout the Southern California area, then this is a great opportunity for you. The ideal applicant will have some Acquisition experience, great interpersonal skills, and can manage a variety of project tasks. Tasks range from fostering relationships with property owners, real estate brokers and government agencies – to analyzing large sets of property data to generate new leads, work independently to identify and manage land and distressed debt acquisitions throughout Southern California. Work with the Company’s development and executive staff to initiate and maintain relationships with brokers, lenders and city development staff, monitoring city zoning amendments and RFPs, and analyze the financial viability of potential acquisitions. Additionally, we expect that you will also participate in due diligence and project entitlement activities assigned to you at our discretion.

This role will work at the City Ventures office in Irvine, CA and is a Full Time Exempt position.

Required Experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree is required business, urban planning, real estate development or a related field; an advanced degree is welcome but not required.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years real estate acquisition or development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of land use and real estate development
  • Good understanding of excel and financial pro forma analysis
  • Organizational skills, strong writing skills, and great interpersonal skill

Primary Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Land acquisition research and feasibility analysis
  • Scope, target, and map land opportunities to generate new leads
  • Interfacing with property owners, city officials, and real estate brokers
  • Proforma underwriting, negotiations, and creative problem solving

Compensation: Salary ranges from $90,000 - $140,000 per year plus mileage reimbursement for travel during the workday (not commute).
