IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

The Engineering Co-Op is a highly motivated problem solver who will provide impact to the Engineering Department on both legacy and new product development projects by updating product documentation and executing testing. The individual in this role has the opportunity to provide further impact by leading small scale engineering projects and performing engineering process tasks, as assigned. Typically, work is performed with increased oversight/guidance from a more senior engineer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide engineering analysis and solutions to opportunities presented by the business.
  • Support electromechanical design changes by utilizing engineering design software.
  • Manage and drive small scale engineering projects from initiation through implementation under close supervision and support.
  • Support DHF/DMR documentation updates on legacy and new product development projects.
  • Perform and assist verification/validation testing and generate reports with recommendations and conclusions.
  • Complete engineering process administrative tasks, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Registered full time Engineering or Physical Science student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Proficient in Office Suite programs and 2-D/3-D engineering modeling software.
  • Moderate communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate and present project information to the applicable audience.
  • Moderate documentation skills. Basic understanding of GDP.
  • Experience working in a professional environment on a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • >2 years of Engineering or Physical Science curriculum completed.
  • Experience working in medical device environment.
  • Product design experience.
  • Change control experience.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and reading engineering drawings/prints.
  • Experience executing test protocols.
  • Experience updating documents within a QMS (i.e. DHF/DMR documents).
