Team & Role:

We are partnering with a local firm in India called Kaamwork to build out an Engineering presence in India.

As part of this initiative, we are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to help build out a distributed engineering team in India. You will be working closely with our global technology leaders and tasked with building a high-caliber, result-oriented engineering team to successfully execute against business objectives and meet customers' requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Build best-in-class engineering teams in India from the ground up.
• Build solutions from their inception through to production - from design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate business requirements into platform capabilities that deliver value for our customers - both now and in the future.
• Work on microservices that are: Small, and independent Easy to learn, change and extend Enable self-service by service users
• Proactively collaborate with functional and business leadership teams to support business and program requirements and demands.
• Pave the way for their team through direct contributions, establishing patterns, and active coaching/mentorship
• Seek to understand the purpose of their work and how it fits into the larger company vision
• See mistakes as learning opportunities, not just for themselves but for their team as well
• Consistently leave code and projects better than they found them
• Take pride in the products they build and want to deliver an exceptional experience for the end user.

What You'll Bring / Be:

• Experience being a practitioner of lean or agile software development principles and practices, understanding and advocating the importance of test automation, continuous delivery, continuous improvement, and value delivery.
• Experience working with global teams including those in product to help set roadmaps for product delivery
• Experience with cloud technology (AWS preferred) and designing solutions that leverage its unique advantages.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of delivering flexible, reliable, cloud-based APIs using of Nodejs, Typescript, golang, Java, C#, or C++.
• Experience building high-quality engineering teams, particularly in India
• Experience onboarding and developing other engineers.
• Experience participating in code reviews, and collaborating with product and engineering partners on new feature development.
• Experience in commercial software development working with highly-scalable systems.
• A motivated and self-directed engineer who wants to deliver real business value
• Pragmatic and understand there will always be tradeoffs
