Engineering Manager - What You'll Do:
The Engineering Manager reports to the Director of Engineering and will be responsible for the coaching, mentorship, growth, and direction of a distributed team of engineers. Responsibilities include:
- Model, coach, and care. For our engineering managers, their first priority are their direct reports career growth, wellbeing, and our team culture
- Be highly motivated and demonstrate a willingness to learn and to grow within the role.
- Invest in others' growth and mentor team members and build highly capable teams.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to associate level team members and help to define and drive best practices across the division
- Partner with stakeholders to establish priorities, guide roadmap, and ensure team readiness
- Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals for direct reports
The Skills, Experience, and Mindset Required:
- Extensive hands-on Software Engineering experience, with recent experience leading and managing high-performing development teams.
- Coding proficiency in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Node.js, or equivalent languages/frameworks.
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Be both highly technical and a world-class people manager.
- Demonstrated experience in shipping high-quality products or services.
- Experience working in an agile environment or startup environment.
