Organization & Role

Teradyne’s Defense and Aerospace Division is the leading provider of high-performance test systems, subsystems, instruments and service for the defense and aerospace markets. Our test products are used to ensure the readiness of military and commercial aerospace electronics systems. New programs, such as tactical aircraft and missile systems, as well as upgrade programs, continue to fuel the demand for high performance test systems in this market.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the successful management of cost, schedule and scope of multiple engineering projects with hardware, software, mechanical and systems components. The successful candidate must be able to manage change, escalate issues, and take an active role in getting decisions made in a timely manner. Responsibilities include:


Leading and motivating a team of engineers.

Facilitating the creation of project schedules and requirements matrices.

Identify and coordinate internal and external resources to execute the plan.

Monitor and close programs/projects to achieve program objectives.

Use industry standard techniques and tools to measure progress against product and program objectives.

Drive proactive corrective action where required.

Manage scope change control activities, and communicate periodic project assessment to sponsors.

Synthesizing data and present program overview status to stake holders.

Identify critical paths and recommended mitigation paths.

Contribute to proposal activities as needed.

Review of contracts from USG and or Prime Contractors.

Expectation of being onsite 3-4 days per week.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

Engineering and / or Program Management background with experience in product development in the high technology industry.

Association with PMI and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

Excellent organizational and communication skills including ability to communicate and foster communication between project groups.

Experience managing team elements in multiple geographic locations.


Education

BS with an Engineering background and a minimum 5+ year's experience in Project Management.

Association with PMI and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
