DETAILS:
We’re on the hunt for a motivated and talented Engineering Student in our Geointelligence department at our Richmond office. This is an 8-month term starting in September 2023, or earlier if possible.
Overall the successful candidate would be treated similar to a new graduate joining our company, where tasks will be assigned relative to the level of schooling and experience achieved to date.
Project
The MDA airborne radar group is currently performing several projects to develop and support advanced airborne radar systems. MDA is responsible for the system engineering, algorithm development, software development, integration and test, installation, flight trial and in service support activities to field these world class multi-mode imaging radars.
Position
The group is currently looking for a motivated engineering student to participate in advancing the groups capabilities in ship classification from processed radar images. The group is investigating artificial intelligence techniques to automate and enhance the ship classification process. The role includes assisting in the creation of labelled data sets which is key for developing and evaluating artificial intelligence algorithms. The engineering student may also assist in the development and evaluation of the artificial intelligence algorithms.

Experience
Interested candidates should be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with three (3) years completed.
Comments/Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
