Enrollment Management Event Communications Specialist

Job Title: Enrollment Management Event Communications Specialist


Reports to: Director of Enrollment Management Communications


Campus: Queens/Remote


Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management Communications, the Communication Trafficker, will serve as project manager for all marketing projects and event marketing/communications within the department.


Essential Functions:

  • Serve as project manager for marketing projects within the Office of Enrollment Management Communication.
  • Maintain EM Communications calendar
  • Liaise between Admission, University Marketing and Communication, University mailroom, and third-party vendors to coordinate printing and mailing of all projects.
  • Write, edit, and proofread communications for Enrollment Management.
  • Assist in developing, editing, and maintaining webpages within Enrollment Management.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors for creative development of marketing opportunities on platforms such as Niche, Hobsons, Naviance, US News, etc…
  • Create and maintain event templates, individual events, event folder structure and event landing pages in Slate for Undergraduate events, Graduate events, and off-campus recruitment events
  • Create and execute all Slate email and print communications for events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • A Bachelor’s degree required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will be well organized and deadline oriented.
  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in high pressure circumstances and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and vendors is preferred.
  • Experience copy editing and with graphic design, layout design, photo manipulation is required.
  • Experience with HTML and/or CSS is required.
  • Knowledge of Slate CRM is preferred.
  • Prior higher education marketing or communication experience preferred.
  • Understanding of discretion related to handling confidential information is required.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, mornings, and weekends is required.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities with short notice and changing deadlines is preferred.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, etc.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; move about; sit; to carry work and use controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; communicate. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the employee include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30am-3:00pm. Occasional early morning, night, and weekend hours required for recruitment and events.


Travel

This position may require travel to multiple St. John’s University campuses for events, trainings, and meetings.


Required Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience copy editing and with graphic design, layout design, photo manipulation is required.
  • Experience in project management and serving as liaison between multiple teams required.
  • Experience with HTML and/or CSS is required.
  • Understanding of discretion related to handling confidential information is required.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, mornings, and weekends is required.

  • A Master’s degree is preferred.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual/hourly salary for this position is $58,500. St. John’s University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.


This position may be relocated to any of St. John’s University’s physical locations at any time.
