General Position Summary Captures, translates, and optimizes operational processes across the enterprise, models current and future state business processes for digital transformation initiatives, and leads key process improvements influencing cross-functional efforts aligned to deliver WoodmenLife business strategy. What we are looking for: • Partners with business, management, and technical stakeholders to capture desired business capabilities and system features into strategic roadmaps. Performs root cause analyses on business and technical problems and leads stakeholders to new solutions. • Partners with department leaders and subject matter experts in defining and executing long-term process integration strategy.
- Provides guidance to project, technical, and business teams to ensure initiative requirements align with business strategies, architectural standards, and the technology roadmap. Develops processes for technology migration and adoption. Evangelizes modern methods and architectural frameworks. • Documents necessary enterprise technology architecture design and analysis work, including project postmortem documentation and metric collection.
- Collaborates with business stakeholders, technical teams, architects, and management to ensure architecture is aligned with business strategy & technical standards. Assists in devising an enterprise roadmap which aligns within appropriate architectural domains (business, data, application, infrastructure, and security) to proactively set WoodmenLife up for success. • Collaborates in providing technical input to business and technical leaders while developing business cases for initiatives. Clearly defines, proposes and recommends solutions to business and technical leadership.
- Produces and maintains business capability and customer journey maps, interaction and data flow diagrams, and technology inventories. Works with multiple business areas and functional teams to document the structure of the organization’s business and technology landscape. Translates requirements into a technical models using process flows and other modeling methods. • Researches emerging Microsoft cloud offering and performs analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
- Applies expertise and business acumen in Microsoft cloud offering to promote innovative solutions and process improvements. • Analyzes technical and business capabilities. Recommends best path for solving business issues, including procedure improvement, system enhancement, user training, software procurement, and vendor evaluations and demonstrations. Elicits business use cases and decompose data to create technical designs.
Builds out proofs of concept for proposed solutions. Identifies opportunities for efficiency improvement and retirement of aging techniques. • Capable of producing business-based proof of concepts to validate and innovate new ways of thinking and working with technology that can potentially provide new opportunities to the business. • Performs complex analysis and model business processes and process flows, information flows, and business rules.
- Assists with priority setting of work introduced to the Enterprise Architecture Team. Support process improvements for the EA team, including SAFe and/or other agile frameworks and methodologies. • Maintains awareness of business and industry issues/trends, as well as new technologies and frameworks. • Influences organization goals/objectives.
Minimum Qualifications This job requires a background that demonstrates the following minimum knowledge, skills, talents and traits: • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. • At least 4 years of professional experience as a Senior Business Systems Analyst or 10 years of experience in process improvement and project management. • 3+ years’ experience working in a SAFe Scaled Agile environment. • Experience with Visio and/or other process modeling software.
- Experience working with Portfolio Project Management Office (PPMO) to establish realistic delivery estimates. • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture processes, methods, and frameworks, including proficiency in business process modeling and redesign, requirements management, and research tools. • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies. • Knowledge and understanding of technical terminology and ability to communicate it in layman’s terms.
- Working knowledge of current technologies and developments in the software & systems engineering industry. • Strong technical knowledge of application delivery methods and familiarity with how portfolios of systems work together to create enterprise solutions. • Ability to build and maintain strong and ongoing business relationships with project participants and executive leaders Strong project management/facilitation experience in managing relationship, partnership and interactions. • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with business units.
Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with clients, team members, and management. • Ability to motivate and gain acceptance of ideas. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to grasp new concepts quickly and desire to learn new skills. • Ability to articulate issues, reduce problem to contributing factors, and help draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to successfully engage in multiple, simultaneous initiatives. • High level of IT Security awareness. • Ability to engage well with others and passionate about providing an exemplary customer experience. • Ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.
Desired Qualifications • Knowledge of the insurance/financial services industry. • Experience transforming legacy processes/solutions to the cloud. • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud computing. • Experience with Microsoft M365 suite of tools.
