Overview

As we continue to build our team in support of our vision to be the world’s best and most trusted mobility company, the Corporate Government and Public Affairs team is excited to announce the opening of a Government and Public Affairs Policy Manager!

 

The Government and Public Affairs Policy Manager supports the department by researching and analyzing proposed legislation, regulation and other public policy such as municipal ordinances. This position is responsible for developing policy position papers, other messaging deliverables, and communication of policy issues between the Corporate Government Affairs team and the operating groups. Additionally, the Manager acts as a project manager in the coordination of complex policy development and advocacy campaigns, coordinating internal and external communications, interfacing with participating thought leaders, and ensuring timely coordination of outcomes. This position works with state teams to assist with their advocacy efforts.

 

This position at our Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO with a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to field operations on current and upcoming federal,state, and municipal legislation
  • Manage the flow of information between state teams and the corporate office on public policy and political issues
  • Analyze and evaluate current and proposed government policies and regulations, and strategize where effortsshould be focused based on how these changes may impact the organization's activities
  • Develop public policy position papers and other advocacy materials to promote the organization's position on public policy matters
  • Provide direction to working groups for issue-specific policy development and issue advocacy, including internal and external coordination of participants, communications, and facilitation of work product
  • Identify influential government candidates and incumbents and provide state teams with proposals to advocate for the company's position
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training, and goal setting
  • Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree
  • Must have five (5+) years or more of strategic analysis, business policy development, or other related business practice analysis or development
  • Must have two (2+) years or more of government, public policy, political or public affairs experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future  

Preferred:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD)
  • Direct or indirect experience dealing with car rental, automotive, sharing economy or property and casualty insurance industries
  • Direct or indirect experience working with the following committees (or commensurate committees in the state legislature): House Energy & Commerce; House Transportation and Infrastructure; House Ways & Means, Senate Commerce, Science & Transportation; Senate Environment and Public Works, Senate Finance : House Energy & Commerce; House Transportation and Infrastructure; House Ways & Means, Senate Commerce, Science & Transportation; Senate Environment and Public Works, Senate Finance
