DevOps Engineer; Technology Service Management


We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our global site reliability team based in Eagan, Minnesota. This team supports applications built on premise and AWS. This position is part of a global technology group that operates enterprise application systems serving Thomson Reuters products in the Research Products segment. This team manages reliability engineering, build and deployment processes, ongoing change planning and implementation, incident detection and resolution, and compliance for a portfolio of products and infrastructure built on a variety of technologies, including Java, Linux, Microsoft, relational databases, message queuing, AWS cloud services, and more.

About the Role:

As a DevOps Engineer joining our team, you will:

  • Engage in all aspects of operational readiness for cloud-based, production, and pre-production level applications.
  • Provide ongoing support of applications hosted within the cloud and on-premise.
  • Partner with engineering teams to automate and evolve stability, performance, and supportability.
  • Take ownership of monitor design, incident identification, communication, mitigation, root cause analysis, and automation.
  • Implement non-functional requirements to ensure system availability, scalability, performance, monitoring, alerting and efficient incident troubleshooting.


About You:

You’re a fit for the role of DevOps Engineer if your background includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, equivalent work experience, or relevant certification
  • 1+ years of Operations or Development related experience with cloud-based applications
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability for on-call incident response coverage


Preferred:

  • Experience with Linux, Java, database, and web technologies
  • Experience with scripting languages
  • Experience working with Github
