Description
Hennepin County Library is looking for Computer Tutor Volunteers at a few of our libraries to assist patrons with computer basics. This opportunity will help library patrons improve their basic computer skills and job search skills through one-to-one assistance.
Locations in need:
Augsburg Park located at 7100 Nicollet Ave. Richfield, MN 55423- Sumner Library located at 611 Van White Memorial Blvd. Minneapolis, MN 55411

In this volunteer position, you will:
- Assist patrons with logging in, typing, and using a mouse to navigate the computer.
- Help patrons navigate the internet (connecting to Wi-Fi, sign up for online accounts, login to email account, and changing passwords).
- Support patrons with job search assistance: resumes, searching the internet for jobs, and job applications.
- Proficiency in (or a willingness to learn) Microsoft Word and Excel.
- The ability to communicate with a wide range of people and be able to break down technology and job-related topics in an accessible way.
- The ability to speak another language in addition to English.
