Role Overview

We are looking for:

  • Someone to provide technical advice and governance for the environmental discipline to sites and GBUs.
  • Work with sites and GBUs to develop and implement programs to improve environmental performance and sustainability in NA.
  • Work directly with the NA Regional Environmental Manager to train and deploy corporate programs and systems at the NA sites.
  • Support and promote the pursuit of HSE Excellence and Sustainability throughout the organization.
  • Respond to GBUs and sites to provide technical/regulatory data and information to assist with compliance.
  • Lead and participate in Dakota compliance, Responsible Care and outsourced service providers audits.
  • Review and approve landfills, incinerators and recycling facilities in CHWMEG. Manage the 5 year review process of facilities to ensure all landfills are available to US sites.
  • Assist in SERF training and information gathering from US sites throughout the year and during annual reporting.
  • Review and update NA Environmental procedures
  • Continually update and improve the NA Eco environmental website with information, documents and links to support the NA industrial sites.
  • As an environmental expert for environmental topics; developing the pipeline of projects,
  • Supporting and challenging the GBUs/sites (particularly in the frame of Star Factory).
  • Ensuring the delivery of Eco corporate targets, scouting the external market to bring in new technologies, defining and deploying action plans to implement short term de-risking, and collaborating to the development of mid-term/long-term objectives.
  • An environment expert in order to accelerate our sustainability roadmap at Eco.
  • The environmental expert will support and provide expertise to develop the roadmaps for the reduction of our waste, our water usage and the emissions of pollutants in the environment.
  • The environmental expert will be integrated into the Star Factory experts team
  • He/she will integrated into Sustainable Development network of Essential-Co

You will bring:

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science/Management or related technical area.
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Management (CHMM) preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Environmental management
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience, preferably in a site/manufacturing position with increasing levels of responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State regulatory requirements for chemical production operations; in-depth knowledge of multi-media environmental regulations.
  • Technical proficiency in multiple area of the Environmental discipline:
  • Air and wastewater permit compliance
  • Waste management
  • Wastewater treatment
  • Incident and release investigations
  • Air and Water emission calculation and reporting
  • Training
  • State and Federal environmental reporting
  • Compliance auditing
  • Risk assessment techniques
  • HSE management systems
  • Personal computer skills
  • Ability to train and educate effectively
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentations
  • Creative ability to apply expertise and solve complex technical problems and achieve
  • Quantifiable results
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams and act as team leader
  • Experience working effectively within a matrix management environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong understanding of the business issues driving/affecting environmental issues

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $103,306 to $129,132 per year.
  • Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
  • Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
  • 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations
