Role Purpose - Scrum Master - Data & Analytics

We are looking for an enthusiastic Scrum Master to join our team as we strive to deliver excellence to our customers. As a scrum master, you will be aligned to the delivery team responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of Equity IT products for the FTSE Russell business.
This is a hands-on Scrum Master role with focus on delivering results on-time, in-full, and to the agreed quality levels. Contribute directly to the agility of the team and the overall performance for your Scrum Team, ensuring that results are clearly understood, planned, and completed with attention to detail and entrepreneurial ownership and approach to coordinating across teams and managing delivery RAID’s. The role forms part of the wider programme to design and build innovative, industry leading benchmarks and indices offerings to meet client and market needs and enable value targets for the associated business outcomes.
Role Responsibilities:

Facilitating and coaching the Sprint Planning, Sprint Retro and Sprint Review events to ensure they have the desired outcome.

Leading the Scrum Team on effective Daily Scrum and crafting Sprint Goals

Acting as a point of contact for the team – to ease the collaboration with the wider organisation.

Assisting with internal and external communication, improving visibility, and radiating information.

Working with the business, BAs and the Scrum Team to help delivery high velocity change

Helping the team on how to get the most out of self-organisation.

Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organisation and mentoring the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable

Working with the Scrum Team to remove blockers, including with the wider development organisation to highlight and resolve impediments

Coaching the Scrum Team in Product Backlog Item (PBI) writing techniques (e.g., 3Cs, User Stories, Use Cases etc.)

Working with the Product Owner to establish project roadmaps and project timescales

Coaching the team in Agile Development Practices (e.g., Swarming, T-Shaping, TDD, BDD, Automated Testing)

Working with the Development Managers & QA Managers to help develop individuals

Working within the Agile Community of Practice, to coach teams and the organisation to adopt the Scrum Framework
Essential Skills/Experience Required:
-
Experience is playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
-
Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) certification, or similar, would be expected.

Experience of working within a multi-team environment, where scrum team’s success and output relies on collaborating, synchronising, and working with other scrum teams and the wider enterprise.

Strong and confident communication skills, able to build close relationships and interact with colleagues at various levels
-
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, tam building, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

Strong understanding of JIRA, agile metrics, and Kanban techniques.

Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, etc.
Candidate Profile – Minimum Requirements
Technical / functional knowledge:
-
Proven hands-on experience in delivering large-scale technical programmes.
-
A real self-starter with the ability to make clear decisions and solve problems, generating solutions and ultimately getting the job done.
-
Significant experience with driving software development and scaled agile delivery.
-
Proven experience of leading the scoping, planning, execution, and delivery of high-profile IT outcomes.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).

Sophisticated knowledge of JIRA and Confluence, be competent with creating and maintaining standardised delivery structures and frameworks need for collaboration, documentation, and reporting.

Experience with data management and data focussed projects.

Good experience in AWS preferred.
Business / Sector expertise:
-
Financial services or similar experience preferred but not essential.
Leadership & management experience:
-
This is an individual contributor role with delivery leadership aspects.

Experience in managing delivery teams.
-
Stakeholder engagement experience is ideal, alongside the management of external client/vendor relationships.
