We're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to support pre-construction mark-up work. This is a remote position and the ideal candidate will have experience designing and marking up electrical systems for construction projects, ensuring compliance with U.S. engineering standards.
What You'll Do
Pre-Construction Mark-Ups: Collaborate remotely with U.S.-based pre-construction and project teams to provide electrical design mark-ups, focusing on power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and other electrical components
Electrical Design: Create detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, and layouts using bluebeam, adhering to U.S. National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry standards
Plan Review & Quality Control: Review electrical plans and specifications during the design and pre-construction phases to ensure accuracy, quality, and constructibility, providing suggestions for design improvements
Technical Support: Offer technical support and guidance to project managers, field engineers, and construction teams throughout the project's lifecycle
Load Calculations & System Layouts: Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and design layouts for power distribution, lighting, and control systems
Code Compliance: Ensure electrical designs comply with the U.S. National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local codes applicable to the U.S. market
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and submit technical documentation, reports, and drawings for project approval, submission, and review in coordination with U.S. teams
Collaboration: Work closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and contractors, adapting designs to align with project requirements
What You'll Need
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 3+ years of experience in electrical design or engineering, preferably with exposure to U.S. or international construction projects
Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar electrical design software
Knowledge of Codes: Familiarity with NEC (U.S. National Electrical Code) is essential. Experience with international codes is a plus
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address design and construction challenges
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in designs and documentation
Remote Work: Must have a reliable internet connection and the ability to work independently in a remote environment

Experience with BIM modeling and clash detection software
Familiarity with project management processes in a construction setting
