Solutions Architect - FinServ

Etched is building the first transformer-specific AI chip. By trading flexibility for performance, one Etched server has >20x more throughput (tokens per second) than an NVIDIA 8xH100 GPU. We’ve raised >$125M and are a 75-person team in Cupertino, CA.

Etched is seeking a Solution Architect to drive customer adoption in the Financial Services Industry. You will engage with executive-level customers and technical teams across multiple fin-serv verticals (banking, hedge funds, and payments) to provide thought leadership and dynamic demo models that showcase how our chip can enhance their workloads and accelerate business outcomes.  Additionally, you will represent Etched as a FinServ industry leader, staying informed on emerging financial services and AI trends and sharing valuable insights with internal teams and customers. You will also collaborate closely with sales and engineering to ensure our AI solutions meet customer needs and align with product objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Executive customer engagement: Partner and present to executive-level customers at FinServ companies to understand their business needs and demonstrate the value of Etched products, Sohu

• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with sales, software engineering, and product management teams to identify and solve complex customer challenges with tailored FinServ solutions.

• Industry Leadership: Stay one step ahead of emerging fin-serv and AI industry trends and advancements to ensure Etched’s products remain cutting-edge.

• Custom Configurations: Develop Etched cluster configurations based on specific customer requirements.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in and deep understanding of financial services, fintech, hedge funds, or banking industry

• Background in sales engineering or applied solutions where you have the skills and expertise to connect technology with measurable business value

• Exceptional communication skills, including experience in presenting to executive-level customers to understand business needs and deliver business-driven AI solutions.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

• A plus if you have deep understanding of AI, LLM and inference optimization

How we’re different:

Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single-model ASICs.

We are a fully in-person team in Cupertino and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.
