Data Scientist

We currently have a vacancy for a Data Scientist fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will work remotely. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated with the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team.

Your tasks

  • Data analysis and data modelling;
  • Management of existing databases related to the location and characteristics of existing alternative fuels charging infrastructure and the coverage they provide (compliance with targets set in the relevant legislation package(s));
  • Preparation of updates of existing databases with the best possible newly available public datasets and privately sourced datasets;
  • Development and maintenance of spatial coverage analysis models;
  • Creation, coordination and review of interfaces for data communication between different models and frameworks;
  • Preparation of technical, scientific documentation and reports;
  • Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers.
  • Master’s degree in IT or relevant domain, combined with relevant professional experience of 3 years;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the development of algorithms related to data analysis;
  • At least 3 years of experience in using at least one of the following programming languages (Python, C, C++, R, Java);
  • At least 3 years of specific experience in the application of computer science methods and techniques to efficiently solve data-based problems;
  • Experience with software development and large databases/matrices;
  • Experience in assisting researchers with the use of data-based solutions, during relevant parts of their testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and dissemination of results (including in scientific research project/papers);
  • Excellent knowledge of MATLAB (including toolboxes related to Image Processing, Mapping, Parallel Computing, Database Management, Statistics and Optimization), MySQL or PostgreSQL;
  • Excellent knowledge of Java applications development and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA);
  • Knowledge of the following tools/technologies is considered an asset: Oracle (PL/SQL), cloud computing interfacing, development integration of web-based user interfaces (e.g. Spring, JSF), JavaScript development frameworks (e.g. Angular 2), relational databases management and data integration frameworks (e.g. JPA), visualisation frameworks (e.g. D3.js, Matplotlib/GeoPandas/Python, Flourish, kepler.gl, MapBox, PowerBI, etc.), and econometrics tools/libraries.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
