ev.energy set up in 2018 with a simple aim - to make electric vehicle charging simpler, greener, and cheaper for everyone. Drivers download our app and charge their vehicle overnight; and, in the background, we’re ingesting real-time data and using our proprietary smart-charging algorithm to align charging sessions with energy from renewable sources. This reduces carbon emissions caused by EV charging by as much as 70%.
This is a growing industry, with growing demand for our solution - a third of new cars by 2030 will be electric. Simultaneously, there’s increasing strain on the power grid (power outages have already jumped by 64% in the last decade in the USA). We are already working with over 30 utilities in the US, Canada and Europe, offering a way to reduce demand on the grid.
To achieve this we’ve brought together a team of over 100 people, bringing expertise from previous roles at National Grid, Tesla, Amazon, Arcadia, and Chargepoint; we’ve secured over 50m USD from leading VCs in the automotive and energy space including National Grid Partners, WEX Venture Capital, Energy Impact Partners and JLR’s InMotion Ventures. Come help us drive change for the better.
The role
ev.energy is growing - we’ve doubled in size over the last year, partnered with more utilities, and grown our reach to hundreds of thousands of drivers. Given our new relationships with utilities across Europe, we’re looking for an account manager to work closely with these new partners on a day to day basis. You’ll be developing close relationships with key stakeholders; ensuring successful delivery of our key solutions; and offering data insights and reporting. This is a very impactful position with lots of opportunity for growth, autonomy and ownership.
What will you be doing?
Translating signed commercial contracts into concrete account plans, ensuring the smooth deployment of our VPP (Virtual Power Plant) to utility and grid operator clients through our SaaS platform
Ensuring timely and successful delivery of solutions according to client needs and objectives, through effective communication, organisation and project management
Reporting on the progress of monthly and quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
Developing an advisory relationship with key stakeholders and executive sponsors, building long-term relationships and becoming a trusted key point of contact
Utilising data: forecasting and tracking key account metrics; monitoring and analysing client usage of our product; and cleaning and interpreting EV charging data to provide insights internally and externally
Liaising between the client and internal teams, including product, engineering, marketing and customer support
Understanding and defining our value proposition, driving client renewals and growth wherever possible, and providing exceptional support to clients every day
What are we looking for?
Experience as an account manager or customer success manager, ideally within SaaS or with prior experience working within the energy sector
Excellent ability to communicate, present and influence credibly at all levels of the organisation up to C-level; you’ll empathetically listen, negotiate well, and quickly build relationships internally and externally
The ability to swiftly prioritise competing tasks and manage multiple projects at a time while adhering to deadlines
Confidence with data - you’ll have experience using Excel and SQL to analyse datasets, identify trends, and provide reports and insights
Ideally, experience in electric vehicles or distributed energy resource and/or prior experience working with utilities
Motivation and drive - you’ll be able to self-direct, push to keep things moving, and always be looking to improve processes and ways of working
Ability to speak in additional languages is highly desirable but not essential
How will we support you?
Work remotely and work well - we'll provide the tools you need to do your best (including a Macbook Pro), and can provide access to co-working spaces
Access to conferences, meet-ups and training through our L&D allowance
A structured career progression framework and advancement opportunities
Great benefits - including health insurance, 401(k) or pension, paid parental leave
Annual team gatherings - in previous years the whole company has spent a week together in London, Bath and Manchester in the UK
If you don’t have all of the requirements, but you’re really interested in what we’re doing, please apply anyway and we can consider your application now and in future! We value applicants regardless of their background or years of experience. We'll also do our best to accommodate reasonable adjustments to the interview process if needed.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity: we do not discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status or disability status. If you'd like a copy of our DE&I policy you can reach us at hiring@ev.energy.
