ParkHere is looking for a high skilled Senior/Lead Backend Engineer Java/Kotlin (m/f/d) with expertise in Kotlin and Java to join our agile development team.
You will take ownership of backend architecture and development, mentor a team of engineers, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions. While backend skills are paramount, familiarity with front-end technologies is a bonus and can enhance collaboration with UI teams.

Participate in the full software development cycle in a multi-national team
Work on the backend side on a Serverless solution
Develop high quality software in a fast-paced environment for thousands of users
Optimize application performance, scalability, and security
Together with the team you drive architectural decisions and improve our AWS infrastructure, you take full ownership of our cloud infrastructure in the long term
Live a culture of sharing knowledge, best practices and standards as well as promoting cooperation and communication within our cross-functional team
Bring your own experience and ideas to our product, tech-stack to promote growth within the team.
What we are looking for:
Very good communication skills and proficient English
4+ years of experience in Backend Development with Kotlin/Java
Experience designing and implementing serverless applications using Lambda and API Gateway
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with Event-driven architecture
Proficient in creating and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Experience in designing and refactoring micro-service architectures
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (we use Gitlab)
Experience with monitoring tools (we use DataDog)
Proactive and hands-on mentality, you like working in agile teams
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with mobile and front-end frameworks, as React, Typescript and Expo
Knowledge of security best practices (e.g., OAuth, OpenID, JWT, ISO27001).
