The Executive Administrative Assistant to the Dean provides high‐level, complex and varied administrative support to the Dean. The position serves as the liaison between the Dean’s office and all other offices and constituencies of the university.


The Executive Administrative Assistant's responsibilities include:

  • Managing a complex calendar, schedule, travel arrangements and related reimbursements and expense reconciliation;
  • Addressing questions and needs on behalf of the Dean as appropriate;
  • Supporting, organizing, and staffing special meetings and events;
  • Drafting and editing correspondence;
  • Creating complex documents, reports, and presentations;
  • Preparing briefing materials;
  • Developing and organizing agendas;
  • Conducting independent research in support of special projects; and managing special projects.

The Executive Administrative Assistant participates as part of the school’s broader administrative support team and offers and receives back‐up support as needed. The Executive Administrative Assistant regularly works with confidential and/or sensitive information and exercises discretion concerning that information.

What We're Looking For:

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant administrative experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Office program suite
  • Proven project or program management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superb proofreading and editing abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing advanced administrative support to one or more executives.
  • Experience dealing with a diverse community in a complex environment while maintaining a
    customer service orientation.
  • Highly organized; the ability to prioritize multiple demands.
  • A proactive approach with demonstrated ability to think quickly, disseminate information,
    problem‐solve, and bring issues to resolution.
  • Self‐initiative, confidence, and good judgment.
  • Proven ability to establish professional relationships with colleagues across all levels of seniority
    with poise and tact; the ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

This is a hybrid position expected to be on campus 3-4 days per week.
