CBS News is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the President of CBS News. Outside of serving in an administrative capacity, this individual will assist in managing short and long-term projects.
Understanding of news and current affairs – and be agile given the fast-paced environment of news.
Comfortable with flexible hours and possible weekends.
Self-starter with a positive can-do attitude.
Ability to be pro-active, anticipate scheduling/organizational challenges and suggest solutions in a timely manner.
Manage and coordinate daily calendar while keeping executive apprised of changes, actions items, messages, and relevant business issues - both internally and externally.
Make appropriate, informed decisions regarding executive’s availability.
Coordinate and manage meetings on and off site, with logistics and catering if necessary
Screen incoming calls, correspondence, and interoffice materials.
Prepare and manage monthly expense reports and reconciliations.
Create, modify, and format documents electronically including letters, memos, trip reports, itineraries, status reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other related documents.
Organize, proofread, copy, scan, file, and track a variety of business documents in a secure manner.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects at once, following through, and handle issues in a timely manner.
Book frequent travel on behalf of executives or team members.
Exercise various degrees of discretion and judgment with sensitive matters and information. Solve problems - sometimes under pressure - in a very fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 8 years experience supporting a senior level executive in a fast paced environment
Must possess a professional and friendly demeanor.
Be comfortable dealing with internal and external executives, high-level managers, organizations, and confidential data.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal relationship skills.
Must be organized, flexible, and willing to be a team player.
Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel. Available to learn and stay up to date on CBS technologies.
Experience within a News organization is a plus

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $75,000.00 - 115,361.17.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
