Manufacturing Engineer (Austin, TX)

Exowatt is a next generation renewable energy company offering commercial and industrial customers a modular full-stack energy solution that can provide dispatchable power and heat for up to 24 hours per day, specifically designed to meet the needs of energy-intensive applications such as data centers. Key Interactions:
  • The Manufacturing Engineer will interact internally with the Engineering Team and the Product Management Team and externally with suppliers / Contracts Manufacturers. 


Job Summary:
  • The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to develop mass production tooling for specific sub-systems used in the Exowatt system: optical collector, thermal energy storage solution or high temperature engine. This person will have a significant impact on the productization of P3, Exowatt’s flagship product.


This person will:
  • Design and/or validate, then manage manufacturing systems, including machine and assembly processes that align with Exowatt’s production plan
  • Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality
  • Develop and implement automated and manual production systems
  • Optimize production lines, and machine operations both internally and externally.
  • Analyze and reduce production costs while maintaining product quality
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Support the Supply Chain team to develop Exowatt’s supplier network.

Technical Competencies:
  • Educational Level: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in Manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • Proficiency in analytical tools and process balancing techniques
  • Experience with design software and computer-aided manufacturing
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Previous work experience: 3+ years of manufacturing experience. Manufacturing experience in glass or thermal industry is a plus.
  • Ability to physically fulfill job responsibilities: 30%+ domestic and international travel is required.
  • Previous experience in a similar industry
