Chemical Technician I

Job Title: Chemical Technician IDuration: 12 Month (possibility to extend)Location: Onsite - 655 Lone Oak Drive, Eagan, MN 55121Hours: 8:00AM-4:30PM This is flexibleJob Responsibilities• Performs laboratory tests under direct supervision, controls variable conditions and observes and comments on unusual events or departures from prescribed test conditions. Recommends improvement of experimental procedures.• Measures test results obtained and records all data accurately and concisely in a laboratory notebook. Assists higher level technical personnel in analyzing and interpreting experimental data. Makes preliminary evaluation on results and recommends acceptance or rejection.• Assists in maintaining the productivity and organization of a busy research laboratory• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and make recommendations for their improvement• Participate in scientific discussion and critical thinking• Assemble test materials and equipment to expedite test procedures• Assist in analyzing and interpreting experimental data• Maintain clean and safe work facilityRequired Skills:• Knowledge of laboratory practices, scientific terminology, and the characterization and preparation of materials used in routine and special procedures• Must be able to establish and meet deadlines to produce independent results, while building a network of resources in the company• Must work well with other team members, including associates from shared servicePreferred Skills:• Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously• A high attention to detail and quality in resultsSoft Skills:• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.• Team player and detail orientedTechnology requirements:• Familiarity with MS Office• statistical software preferredEducation/Experience:• Associate's degree in applied science or related field required.• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology preferred.• 0-2 years experience required.
