Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource in the largest private mining land package in the U.S. The mine is located in White Pine County, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. Bald Mountain and the nearby Round Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations.
Bald Mountain is an important contributor to the economy of northeastern Nevada and maintains a comprehensive environmental strategy including wildlife protection, habitat recovery and education.
Kinross is looking for a full-time Project Geologist to join the brownfields exploration team at Bald Mountain. Reporting to the Exploration Manager, you will play a key role discovering and delineating resources in the Bald Mountain district, by developing targets, designing programs, and helping to execute on a variety of projects from early to advanced stages, with the ultimate goal of delivering ounces to sustain production. Strong candidates will have a background in both geology fundamentals (structure, stratigraphy, mineralogy) and economic geology (hydrothermal geochemistry, metallogeny of the Western Cordillera), as well as experience working with drill programs and exploration teams. The role is based at the Bald Mountain Mine site.
