What you'll do:
The Regulatory Engineer is accountable for understanding, implementing, and revising all aspects of product/system Regulatory EMC, Safety and Environmental compliance. Regulatory Standards will be implemented for a wide range of new and existing products and designs, covering Enterprise class networking products. A minimum detailed working knowledge of EMI/EMC and Safety requirements including FCC Part 15, EN 55032 and EN 55035 and of Safety standard IEC 62368-1 is required. as well as a basic knowledge of Environmental requirements such as RoHS, Reach and WEEE. A basic knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility will be needed GHG Protocol and ISO14064-1 GHG inventory, conflict minerals, human trafficking, and slavery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance on Regulatory requirements to design and support teams globally, working closely with the New Product Design Engineers/Project Manager, and trouble- shooting issues that may arise - from product conception at the NPI stage through to final design and certification - while promoting a collaborative atmosphere of Quality awareness and continuous improvement within all levels of the company.
Essential Functions:
Implement and manage product Regulatory Compliance requirements necessary for relevant products and processes on a global basis. Maintain objective evidence of compliance. Maintain the process to ensure that all documents concerning EMC compliance are current, up to date, implemented and stored in a safe repository called OnRule.
Participate in Design Reviews for key milestones in the NPI cycle by providing expert guidance from a regulatory compliance perspective and to ensure products, processes and systems comply with relevant US and International standards and codes.
Work with the test labs, suppliers and regulatory agencies regarding their quoting and list of requirements for compliance to ensure all necessary coverage is provided but ensuring unnecessary and excess costs are avoided.
Manage the Regulatory review and approval of ECO's, NPIs and non-conforming Product. Provide on-going support for Regulatory Affairs issues on released products, as identified internally through reports or customer feedback.
Handle requests for data and information from Regulatory agencies, notified bodies and customers and reply in a timely manner.
A detailed working knowledge of EMI/EMC standards including FCC Part 15, EN 55032 and EN 55035 and Safety standards including IEC 62368-1 is required. Basic knowledge of RoHS/WEEE, and European REACH directive is a plus. A basic knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to understand and utilize standard Microsoft Applications and Agile as needed to generate
documents and technical Construction Files and declarations needed for regulatory verification.
Proven ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate all phases of the regulatory process including initiation, development, implementation, outside lab testing and ongoing verification of product compliance.
Ability to operate and communicate effectively under pressure. Ability to communicate clearly with US and Foreign regulatory, government and test agencies, US and foreign supplier’s, external customers and with a wide range of internal customers. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a global team including conducting business during non- standard hours.
Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000, based on qualification and experience
