The Role
As Cloud Network Engineer, you will assist with the maintenance & improvement of the Fastmarkets IT estate. Ensuring the business is running seamlessly on secure, resilient & fit for purpose infrastructure, throughout an exciting period of growth & change. This role demands a unique combination of strong technical skills across many technical disciplines, effective communication, and teamwork within the wider organisation.
Fastmarkets’ IT Operations team is responsible for providing a front door into Fastmarkets Corporate and Digital Applications and Services for over 700 employees and 150 supplier partners across the globe with a variety of persona needs. The business operates in a Microsoft cloud first view across all pillars of technical delivery and need to provide a seamless experience as far as possible
Manage Infrastructure & Configurations: Manage, monitor & improve all Fastmarkets network services & integrations. Maintain data-driven visibility into IT estate and report on operational progress.
Assurance & Governance: Feed into the network asset lifecycle. Aligning closely with Information Security & Site Reliability engineers and architects to minimise and mitigate risks. Ensuring systems are backed up and deliver disaster recovery processes that are effective and actionable.
Planning & IT Strategy Execution: Partner with IT Change function to onboard new and improved technologies. Take decisions to help inform and manage capacity.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver project requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment on identified issues.
Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance to teams & 3rd party Partners ensuring adherence to industry best practices and standards.
Certification and Compliance: Ensure technical delivery aligns with agreed certifications and industry standards.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.
Significant experience as a Cloud Network Engineer in a Global, fast-growing organisation; Managing Infrastructure as code in a near exclusive Microsoft Azure Environment, utilising Azure Virtual WAN, 3rd Party Security Network Virtual Appliances and Zero Trust Private access alongside with traditional network understanding. Exposure to Zscaler Private and Internet Access, FortiGate Firewalls and Multicast networking would be beneficial
Understanding of the common security toolset used in enterprise, working alongside Information Security functions to implement new tools and fine tune existing ones
Private Equity Expertise: Utilize experience in mid-market private equity-backed businesses to navigate and address challenges associated with the transformation process.
Participate and maintain relevant artifacts continuous improvement processes using Agile development methodologies and development processes;SCRUM, CI, CD
Strong experience in ITIL framework and Service methodologies.
Ability to engage in open, honest conversations with members of the Senior Management Team, peers and junior colleagues when discussing delivery performance, with associated risks and issues
Ability to “de-tech” conversations with business stakeholders
Must be able to work autonomously, effectively in a matrix organisation and as part of a team, driving outcomes using data.
Experience of contributing to stakeholder meetings e.g., scoping/discovery workshops, steering groups, Change Advisory Boards, Technical Design Authorities and workshops to facilitate an agreed decision/ outcome
Broad business knowledge including commercial, financial, and technical awareness
Be able to balance task orientation with stakeholder expectation i.e., focus on delivery of allocated tasks, but not to the exclusion of all else, be able to influence both staff and team members
