FC Platform Leader

The primary intent of this position is to provide Manufacturing Supply Chain functional leadership to one of the major categories (IC, HHC, HFB or FMW) or leadership of strategic footprint projects, coordination of contract manufacturing or capability building. Additionally, the intent of this position is to provide the experience and development of skills important for advanced leadership positions within KC.

In this role, you will:

  • Leads the analysis and recommendations for resource allocation and priorities for the sector’s activities geared to meeting current year objectives as well as setting up for success over the 3 year business plan. He/she also provides leadership for major projects. The role coordinates major sector budgets and supply chain forecasts.
  • The incumbent facilitates technical direction and consulting on a wide array of operational issues, bringing significant depth and breadth of experience. This position serves as liaison between mill operations and staff functions and the businesses. He/she would also typically lead development of a major strategic element of the GAP closure plan as well as have responsibility for supply chain points of view/counsel for an assigned category team.
  • Influence the development of sector strategies and plans so that Family Care’s strategic roadmap translates into feasible Supply Chain plans.
  • Lead programs to improve product performance, quality and production processes consistent with the business strategy.
  • Be the communication conduit between the mills operating teams and category teams, regarding strategies, plans, and issues.
  • Coordinate with Research and Engineering to provide and direct technical resources.
  • Coordinate the flow and authorization of RSRs and MSRs for the Family Care manufacturing teams.
  • Support the development and oversight of a Family Care Sector P&E budget/spending to support business objectives.
  • Influence the preparation and recommended mill spending budget and manage spending to deliver against commitments.
  • Influence and coordinate the long-term manufacturing and converting facility plans.
  • Ensure application of established corporate and group financial controls within the incumbent's area of responsibility by providing operating management, direction, and support to the implementation and maintenance of financial policies, instructions, and internal control procedures.
  • Guide category teams to develop a robust value stream within a category.
  • Provide leadership to ensure the organization attracts, develops and retains the best people and fosters an environment which motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.

The successful candidate will join the Family Care Supply Chain Business Integration team and report to the Sr Director, Family Care Supply Chain Business Integration.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • At least 12 years experience working in Manufacturing, Operations or Supply Chain, with at least 8 years working/application experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading cost savings programs.
  • Change management experience (i.e. implementing new skills or participation in implementing cultural change).
  • Proven success working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership with multifunctional team.
  • Clearly demonstrates lean capabilities and worked within an OPEX culture or similar operational framework.
  • Demonstrated experience with 4SPS, or other structured problem solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated organization, project management and communication skills.
  • Experience with facial tissue manufacturing and converting technology, established network within the Family Care sector production facilities, good familiarity with the maintenance function and support resources.
  • Multi-function experience– ie operations and engineering or planning or procurement or etc).
  • Experience preparing budgets.
  • Experience leading or significant support of renovation projects. As such, experience working with staff project teams (R&D/LCM/Planning/Finance/etc…).
  • Experience as an OPEX change agent and/or asset leadership in an area where OPEX has been implemented.
  • Trained in Culture of Accountability, ideally played some sort of a champion role in the implementation thereof.
