The Fee Staff Examiner/Analyst candidate will assist the Financial and Regulatory Surveillance Department (“FRS”) in day-to-day activities by conducting exchange fee examinations of clearing member firms and periodic reviews of non-clearing member firms and incentive program participants in accordance with standardized examination programs. The FRS Fee Staff Examiner/Analyst is responsible for detailed examination testing, analysis and documentation of assigned fee examinations to ensure compliance with CME Fee Policy Bulletins as well are other exchange rules, regulations, and policies.
The Financial and Regulatory Surveillance Department has primary regulatory responsibility for CME, CBOT, NYMEX, and COMEX clearing members through CME Group's four self-regulatory organizations as well as primary exchange clearing fee review responsibility.
Principal Accountabilities:
Responsible for performing detailed examination testing and analysis for assigned exchange fee and member firm/incentive program examinations.
Import and manage large trade data to conduct testing to analyze and support examination findings.
Learn firm’s exchange fee processes, understand equity system documents, and analyze third party documents.
Learn and understand various internal systems including Exchange Fee System, Enterprise Database and Infosource.
Learn and understand rules and regulations (i.e., Fee Policy Bulletins, Market Advisories, Exchange rules, Q&A Guidelines).
Identify examination issues and problems, document findings in a clear and concise manner.
Communicate findings, recommendations, and financial assessments to the clearing member firm.
Follow the examination process from beginning to end.
Skills / Software Requirements:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, relate, and analyze information
Strong Excel skills to organize and manage large data
Professional skepticism
Education:
Bachelor of Science in business, accounting or finance
Coursework in information technology a plus
