Our suite of pedagogical tools is used by over 200 institutions worldwide, impacting millions of courses and students. We focus on promoting active learning and equitable access through our user-friendly solutions, ensuring that every learner benefits from high-quality educational experiences.

Currently we are looking for a VP of Product Design in our team that will drive the strategic vision for product design here at FeedbackFruits.

The impact you'll have in this role:

As VP of Product Design, you will set and drive the strategic vision for product design at FeedbackFruits, ensuring a user-centered design approach that advances our mission to empower educators and learners. This VP-level role will focus on developing a comprehensive design strategy that not only meets immediate user needs but also aligns with our long-term product goals. The role is crucial in building a cohesive, modular, and scalable design system that enhances user experience across diverse educational contexts.

Job Responsibilities:

Design Vision & Strategy

  • Develop a high-level, future-oriented design vision that aligns with FeedbackFruits’ mission, goals, and product strategy.

  • Lead the creation of a design system focused on modularity and reuse to optimize engineering efficiency and support our composable learning platform.

  • Drive a user experience strategy that balances accessibility for late adopters with feature richness for early adopters.

  • Prioritize user-centered principles in creating seamless integrations with Learning Management Systems (LMS) to optimize the embedded user journey.

  • Make informed, strategic decisions around redesigns by weighing risks, costs, and user impact, aiming for sustainable improvements that maintain high user satisfaction (NPS).

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing product design team, fostering a culture of respect, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Facilitate regular design reviews and constructive critique sessions to maintain high design standards and alignment with the product vision.

  • Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and QA to ensure alignment and cohesion across cross-functional teams, amplifying the design team’s role in the broader product development process.

Innovation & User-Centric Design

  • Champion a user-centered design approach rooted in research, feedback, and iterative testing to address the diverse needs of educators, students, and other users.

  • Enhance the platform’s usability for users in LMS-integrated contexts, ensuring an intuitive and effective experience for users in both standalone and embedded interfaces.

  • Encourage innovation and creative problem-solving within the design team to continuously improve the platform’s value for all user segments.

Strategic Mentorship & Development

  • Streamline and elevate design workflows, emphasizing quality, scalability, and an agile response to changing user needs.

  • Provide constructive feedback on design deliverables, reinforcing brand cohesion, design excellence, and alignment with our product vision.

Your experience:

Scale-ups provide phenomenal learning and development opportunities but sometimes it feels like you’re “building the plane while flying the plane”. You must derive energy from such a climate and don’t mind redesigning for continuous growth, feeling comfortable with some uncertainty.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in senior design leadership, ideally within EdTech or SaaS environments.

  • Demonstrated success in setting and executing a design vision that drives product innovation and aligns with strategic goals.

  • Proven experience with user-centered design methodologies and a deep understanding of creating accessible, scalable, and modular design systems.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, including interface, experience design, and integrated platform work.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar.

  • Exceptional communication skills with a track record of building and leading collaborative cross-functional teams.

  • A passion for education technology and a commitment to enhancing learning experiences through design.
