Fellowship Program Director

About us:

Day One is a community-powered platform designed for entrepreneurs who want to learn, connect and grow. We're on a mission to help more people become successful entrepreneurs, and we plan to do that by building a new kind of entrepreneurial community and leveraging community-driven education. Learn more at www.joindayone.com.

Our flagship program is the Day One Fellowship, a 10-week bootcamp that provides founders the community, tools, and guidance needed to navigate the confusing and challenging early stages of entrepreneurship. Since our launch in Fall 2020, more than 200 Day One Fellows have completed the program and dozens upon dozens have gone to launch their businesses and/or raise funds for their ventures.

About the role:

As a Program Director for the Day One Fellowship, your role will be to own and manage the Fellowship, from the day-to-day community and program management to the long term trajectory and evolution of the Fellowship. You will be working closely with Day One's co-founders to take on ownership of the Fellowship and lead it into the next phase of growth and impact.

You will own the entire lifecycle of the Day One Fellow experience, from recruiting to onboarding to their time as a Fellow and their transition to becoming an Alumni. You will be one part community manager, engaging with Fellows, planning and running all sessions, recruiting mentors, and one part general manager, pulling the levers to improve the Fellowship experience.

This role is a highly visible leadership position. You will lead sessions, host guest investors and mentors, and be the voice of authority for the Fellowship, both within the Fellowship and beyond.

You will collaborate closely with our co-founders and the Growth Lead to help the Fellowship grow, leading the charge to scale the community, network and systems that make the Fellowship what it is today. You will be supported by our platform team to ensure everything is scalable and repeatable.

What you'll do:

  • Develop the Day One brand, messaging, voice, and positioning - carefully crafting copy, developing and maintaining visual guidelines, and producing content that will populate everything from our marketing website to social accounts to email communication.
  • Coordinate and develop content, ranging from webinars to articles to social media posts to newsletters.
  • Create and manage partnerships and co-marketing opportunities.
  • Own Day One's voice and presence across social media platforms.
  • Manage Day One stakeholders and craft email campaigns that deliver value and speak to our mailing list, advisors, applicants, Fellows, and Mentors.
  • Drive media coverage and PR efforts.
  • Create and optimize a referral program that incentivizes partners, alumni and others to become ambassadors for Day One.
  • Own and manage all marketing related systems (website, CRM, referral platform, email)
  • Manage and review analytics across platforms and report on success of various campaigns and initiatives
  • Over time, build out and manage a marketing, content and communications team.

About you:

You are:

  • Passionate about startups and experienced guiding and advising founders through the earliest stages of company building. You are able to bring first-hand experience to the game, whether launching your own ventures or player/coaching others. It wouldn't be a stretch to call you a "founder coach".
  • An adept and energetic community builder who loves being around founders, who understands that community is the sum of relationships built and loves to build those relationships. Inside community you don't shy away from the small stuff and you lead by example in setting the tone for the community.
  • Entrepreneurial, and can operate within ambiguity to define objectives, set plans, and execute. You work well under pressure, and can balance multiple projects at once.
  • An adept communicator, whether through excellent copy writing or an ease when speaking in public.
  • Are detail oriented, can manage many moving pieces, and have experience running virtual events, teaching, and managing/motivating groups of mentors.

What you'll get:

This role is a part of the Day One founding team. As Day One grows, you'll be a key player in our success, incentivized by a generous equity package that fits your experience and the stage of our business. We offer basic benefits that will be expanded over time.

You can be based anywhere, but must be able to work U.S. east coast working hours.

Day One is building an ecosystem to power the next generation of entrepreneurship. Our Fellowship program is purpose built for early-stage entrepreneurs to tap into a vibrant community, powerful network, and guidance from experienced operators.
