Emergency and Critical Care Assistant Practice Manager / Veterinary Technician

Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to serve as our Assistant Practice Manager of Emergency and Critical Care (APM-ECC) in our new Clearwater, FL hospital. As a family-owned emergency and specialty veterinary hospital, we offer advanced and specialized veterinary services to our clients and referring veterinarians. The Assistant Practice Manager (APM-ECC) assists in providing a successful outcome in patient care, a positive guest experience, while promoting a collaborative environment between team members in the hospital.

Essential Functions:

  • Direct and supervise Emergency and Critical Care team members in an active leadership role in ensure team success (90% clinical environment, 10% office/clerical environment)
  • Collaborate with training and clinical team members to ensure that training and quality goals are met
  • Coach and lead through effective feedback to team members through the supervisory team
  • Monitor and evaluate operations on a daily basis
  • Responsible for assignment and direction of work, development and training
  • Adjust team member schedules to accommodate the patient needs of the hospital as needed
  • Ensure the adequacy and adjust inventory levels of all goods and supplies necessary for the operation of the hospital on a daily basis
  • Maintain familiarity and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standards of Care (SOCs) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines
  • Assists in building rapport with clients and referring veterinarians to ensure an overall high level of customer satisfaction with the hospital and services we provide
  • Minimize hospital liability through constant risk management review
  • Report all unsafe situations and complaints
  • Create and maintain a positive team environment

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises all assigned team members to include leads and supervisory staff members for the Emergency, ICU and Critical Care departments.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, a minimum of 3 years’ of equivalent work experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Supervisory experience in a veterinary hospital
  • Demonstrated work history of above average performance, customer service, and attendance
