Job Description
Fugro’s geological and geophysical survey services provide value to your project, either alone or as a key component of an integrated site characterization effort to gain insight into ground conditions. The information helps to understand the nature and variability of ground conditions at a site or along a corridor, to guide the development of your targeted site investigation program, to determine specific engineering properties and for assessment of ground risks.
The Field Geophysicist will be tasked with collecting geophysical data and maintaining logging on client sites. This individual must have strong attention to detail and maintain effective work relations with those encountered including colleagues, clients, suppliers and other third parties. This role will be reporting directly to the Geophysics Land Geophysics Manager.

Assisting with the acquisition of high-quality geophysical data at client project sites

Compiling field notes and survey logs

Performing preliminary reduction and processing of geophysical data

Assisting others with the preparation of data deliverables and factual reports

Involved with the routine maintenance and testing of geophysical equipment

Demonstrate awareness and implementation of project risk control and risk management
Job Requirements

BS or MS in Geophysics desired, related disciplines will be considered.

0 – 3 industry-related experience.
-
An understanding of near-surface geophysical data, such as Ground Penetrating Radar, Electromagnetic Mapping, Resistivity, Magnetics, etc.

Prior experience with the use of AutoCAD, GIS, Oasis Montaj, and other specialist software would be beneficial.

Maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment including clients, suppliers and other third parties

Familiar with MS Office applications, including Sharepoint, Teams, Word and Excel

Be able to travel extensively; locally, domestically, and internationally
Physical Requirements

Most geophysical data collection is performed outdoors in varying climates and requires performing moderate work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
