Field Operations Manager

The Field Operations Manager is a hands-on, individual contributor responsible for ensuring reliable operations of point-to-point wireless networks. You will manage a growing team of tower climbing field engineers that build and maintain the world's lowest latency financial networks. TowerPros supports a full range of work involving the installation, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of various types of telecommunication platforms.

What You'll Do:

• Build, train, mentor, and coach a growing team of field engineers.

• Plan, schedule, and review workload and manpower to make sure targets, annual requirements and competitive requests are being met on a cost-effective basis
• Communicate with all relevant employees to ensure delivery times are met
• Communicate any changes to project delivery dates to relevant parties
• Monitor installation standards carried out by the field force
• Confirm that safety regulations are followed during site builds and installations both internal and externally

• Diagnose technical issues and assist the field team with executing a solution efficiently and effectively
• Create and manage trouble tickets, prioritize work based on business needs, and delegate tasks.
• Manage efficient repair, maintenance, inspection, and safe operation of all site assets.

• Ensure all costs associated are uploaded onto the internal management system
• Other duties as assigned or needed

Skills You'll Need:

• At least 5 years of experience in the industry as a manager
• Willingness to maintain safety certifications and routinely climb with team members; previous climbing experience is highly preferred
• Creative problem solving, attention to detail, with good analytical and root cause analysis abilities
• Success in building strong, cohesive teams by leading and motivating towards action/execution through influence and collaboration
• Strong knowledge of tower industry safety standards and best practices
• Strong understanding of telecommunication equipment concepts and operation to include fiber, AC/DC power, RF/IF signal flow, and networking
• Previous technical remote support experience, such as working in a NOC, is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to competently climb all types of structures and towers up to 600 feet if required; Majority of towers climbed are between 150-400 feet.
• Ability to work overtime, evenings, and on call required. Occasional weekend work is required as needed or as part of on-call.
• Ability to work outside or inside in hot and cold weather conditions for long periods of time.
• Long haul driving of commercial motor vehicles, sometimes up to 10 hours in a work shift; majority of driving is between 1- 4 hours.
• Required to be on feet/standing in one place 60% to 100% of the work shift.
• Required to lift/carry equipment and tools as follows:
  • 25 to 75 lbs. – 50% of the time
  • 1 to 25 lbs. – 90% of the time

Travel Requirements:

• Travel up to 75% of the time to various domestic locations is required, including overnight stays
  • Deploy from home - must be able to park take home work vehicle

Please note that TowerPros operates commercial motor vehicles as a private carrier registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (the "FMCSA"), and the ability to drive TowerPros' commercial motor vehicles is an essential function of this position. In order to comply with federal regulations, any candidate for this position will be required to meet all driver qualification requirements mandated by the FMCSA for non-CDL drivers of commercial motor vehicles and, as such, any offer for this position will be contingent upon TowerPros' receipt of satisfactory driving records, background check results, drug screening results, and DOT physical results.
