Job Description:
The Field Safety Specialist implements programs, procedures, and processes in support of Environmental, Health and Safety strategies, including but not limited to: emergency response, incident investigations and prevention, root cause analysis, safety compliance, safety management systems, and other general safety and health tasks. Maintains a strong working knowledge of a wide variety of safety regulations and issues and performs tasks to ensure compliance with the various federal, state and local regulatory requirements.

Education
: Associate or Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, or relevant discipline typically preferred. Certified safety specialist designation or equivalent in health and safety field, as well as CPR and First Aid is desirable.Years of experience
: 2 or more years of related professional work experience is required to complete all essential job functions.Other unique job relevant attributes:
Industry knowledge:
Experience with health, safety, hygiene and environmental standards and their application in the field. Experience with safety audits and inspections.Risk Mitigation:
Demonstrated knowledge of risk prevention strategies along with risk assessment and mitigation applications to field activities.Incident Investigation
: Experience conducting incident investigations through use of interviewing techniques and root cause analysis.Training and development:
Developing and delivering training to diverse audiences. Knowledgeable in how to effectively coach others within a manufacturing environment.Judgment and decision making:
Considering the long- and short-term implications of potential actions and their impacts to choose the most appropriate course.Position Scope/Contribution
