Finance Systems Analyst I

Position Summary:
With limited supervision, align technical solutions with business needs. Facilitate the maintenance and enhancement of the Workday Financial module functionality. Enrich the enhancement of the general ledger, accounts payable, purchasing, fixed asset management and student accounts system performance including any associate interface requirements for the business and operational needs. This position also assists with developing accounting reports, troubleshooting system issues, and importing and exporting data files from the system.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in identifying business issues that need to be considered, questions that need to be asked, implications of presence/absence of certain data fields, etc.
  • Serve as back up for developing, maintaining, and running Workday Financial reports for NU Finance departments.
  • Serve as technical support to Finance and Accounting team users and initial error analysis for Workday Finance related issues.
  • Maintain Chart of Accounts in Workday.
  • Create and maintain technical data interfaces that move data between Workday Financials and PS Campus Solutions modules. Resolve/troubleshoot errors in interface loads. Review report runs/queries to ensure performing as planned.
  • Provide Workday Finance functional support to help resolve day-to-day issues encountered by end users across the various departments that cannot be resolved by the respective key users.
  • Prepare and update user training guides for Workday Finance tasks and processes.
  • Participate/assist with future module implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting/Finance, or related field, preferred; and
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ relevant experience working with PeopleSoft or Oracle base applications within a medium to large organization institution required;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience. Workday experience a plus.

  • Working knowledge of business processes, procedures, software upgrades and maintenance; familiarity with database methodology, project management and application integration design.
  • Advanced use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and working knowledge of software programs for business financial processes e.g., PeopleSoft, Adaptive Planning, General Ledger & reporting tools, Asset Management, Accounts Payable/Purchasing or Student Accounts, a plus.
  • Strong logic, analytical, critical thinking, independent thinker, planning and organizational skills and follow through with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities. Good follow-up and follow-through to ensure deliverables.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community along with solid customer service skills. Ability to communicate well orally and in writing. Ability to develop and use empathetic listening skills, communicate with clarity, and maintain an attitude that conveys respect, assistance, honesty, and resourcefulness.
  • Effective teaching, human relations, communication, problem-solving and strong organizational and leadership skills. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
  • Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures, while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities
Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency. Compensation Range:
Annual Salary: $65,621.00 - $75,427.00
