Financial Analyst

The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Financial Analyst to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The purpose of the Financial Analyst role is to support the Supervisor Corporate Reporting in the areas of financial systems, accounting, and corporate reporting. This process involves information verification, problem solving, reporting, scheduling, reconciling, analyzing, and accounting applications. This role encompasses aspects of financial systems, general ledger, and BPC Corporate Financial reporting systems.

The key responsibilities of the Financial Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate information processing in relation to the general ledger for corporate and internal reporting while working under moderate supervision
  • Daily communication with various other internal entities and sister divisions as required
  • Preparation of numerous worksheets and financial analysis relating to actual results, forecasts, and budgets
  • Month end closing procedures involving auditing account codes, passing data, filing reports, journal entries, and other related issues
  • Monthly reconciliation of intercompany accounts and verifying balances with sister divisions to ensure accurate reporting to corporate
  • Prepares and monitors intercompany commission income and expense
  • Prepares monthly intercompany payments including those through the corporate netting system
  • Prepares monthly cross-charges to sister divisions
  • Transacts intercompany AP invoices and cross-charges in, monthly
  • Reviews general ledger accounts balances
  • Responsible for journal entries related to intercompany accounts and other areas as assigned
  • Prepares sales tax schedules and reports
  • Analyzes trends, costs, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses
  • Maintains a positive attitude and professional image with corporate, group, and other departments
  • Assigned special projects by the Manager or Controller as required
  • Assists finance staff and other functions as required

  • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Financial Analyst at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or equivalent experience
  • Financial analysis, computer competence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate timely and accurate reporting of given issues
  • Aptitude with organization and multi-tasking
  • Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Physical demands of the role are sitting and data entry daily
