Summer Internship at Chubb Tempest Re
Chubb Tempest Re USA, based in Stamford, CT, is the domestic reinsurance entity within the Chubb Group. We sell property and casualty reinsurance to other U.S. insurance companies. Insurance companies buy reinsurance for a variety of reasons: protection from catastrophic loss events; protection for earnings volatility; capital relief for leveraged balance sheets; unique and emerging risks; and sometimes the desire to have a partner to improve best practices.
The individual hired to complete this internship will be working with the underwriting team helping to organize and evaluate data. The requirements are superior Excel skills; the capacity to complete time sensitive deliverables; an ability to clearly communicate both in writing and verbally to senior level individuals; a willingness to work self-sufficiently and proactively; and an honest curiosity to learn how a business works during its peak time. In return the promise from our staff is a commitment to spend time with the working intern to explain what is happening; to educate them about the reinsurance business; and the opportunity for a fulltime position.
Chubb is the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurer. With operations in 54 countries, Chubb provides commercial and personal property and casualty insurance, personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance and life insurance to a diverse group of clients. The company is distinguished by its extensive product and service offerings, broad distribution capabilities, exceptional financial strength, underwriting excellence, superior claims handling expertise and local operations globally.
