Role Overview


As Engineering Program Manager you will play a crucial role in guiding Firstup's Engineering Teams to achieve timely and successful deliveries in line with the product roadmap. You will focus on removing obstacles and establishing effective processes.


Responsibilities


  • Program Management: Lead multiple engineering programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivering projects on time, within scope, and with high quality.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, product management, and other cross-functional teams to drive program success. Facilitate communication and resolve dependencies across teams.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues early in the program lifecycle. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate impacts on timelines and deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders. Provide regular updates on program status, risks, and milestones. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance engineering processes to improve efficiency, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Release Management: Oversee and coordinate product and cloud releases, including scheduling, communication, QA coordination, and post-release follow-up.
  • Ad Hoc Project Support: Support strategic initiatives, leveraging expertise to contribute to the successful completion of ad hoc projects.


Minimum Qualifications


  • 3-5 years of experience as an engineering program manager within an engineering or technology environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, the software development lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.
  • Proven track record of managing complex programs with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Quick ability to grasp complex technical details and effectively remove roadblocks.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to planning and executing ad hoc projects.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Aha, or similar platforms.
  • Certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or similar certification is a plus.


$120,000 - $150,000 a year


Firstup expects the base salary for this role to be between $120,000-$150,000. The starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
