Regulatory Compliance Analyst

FlexStaff is hiring a Regulatory Compliance Analyst to our client's newly developed Tax Department in Farmingdale, NY

As a Regulatory Compliance Analyst, you will be a key player in our client's Tax Department. In this position, you will have shown an ability to analyze financial information, interpret tax rules, adhere to and assure compliance with regulatory filings. As our chosen candidate you will have a strong Excel background and enjoy analytical thinking. This is a growth position in a newly developed department and if you want to grow and learn this is your ideal opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly tobacco tax returns.
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly sales and use tax returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of corporate and partnership tax returns.
  • Maintenance of license renewals and surety bonds.
  • Actively engage with different state government agencies to keep informed about new regulations and ensure the organization is adhering to all necessary reporting procedures and compliance.
  • Act as liaison for planned audits.
  • Assist the tax director with various tax strategies and research.

Must have:

3 - 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst (required).
BA/BS Degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
Computer skills i.e. MS Office (Advanced Excel, Word and Outlook) (required).
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of tax software (a plus).
Willing to have a background check.
Willing to work on-site (Monday – Friday).
