The APAC Tax Manager will be a member of the APAC Finance team and will report directly to the APAC Tax Director and work in close collaboration with the APAC Finance and Global Tax teams. This role will be responsible for all tax related matters for Fluence India and provide support to APAC tax functions for regional projects / initiatives as directed by the Senior Tax Director - APAC.


We are looking for a motivated regional tax professional with knowledge of a variety of tax types across APAC.  As the APAC Tax Manager, you will handle the following key areas: 


•Tax Compliance – Lead completion of India tax compliance (direct, indirect, transfer pricing) and support other tax compliance needs within APAC (e,g., Singapore, China, Taiwan, Australia - must have scope to expand to other jurisdictions within 12 months ). 

•Tax Advocacy - Manage tax audits and assessments by India Tax Authorities (e.g., Income Tax Department, GST Authorities), including tax cases filed in the Tribunal and Courts.

•Tax Risk Management - Manage tax risks and take advantage of tax opportunities for Fluence in India. This includes promoting tax awareness, initiating continued improvements to internal controls over processes with tax impact and providing timely tax advice on an ad-hoc basis. 

•Other Regional Tax support – Provide support to APAC tax functions and on all tax related matters for regional projects / initiatives, as needed, including monitoring of legislative and regulatory tax law developments, US income tax provisioning process 


REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Minimum of ten (10) years tax experience, either as a tax professional in a Big 4 tax department or a corporate tax department in an MNC, has international tax exposure 
  • Business or equivalent University degree with a concentration in finance/accounting
  • Chartered Accountant with actual experience in dealing with tax authorities.
  • Strong team player demonstrating maximum flexibility
  • Ability to thrive in a performance-focused and results-oriented environment
  • Must have advanced knowledge of excel and the ability and curiosity to analyze and filter data. 
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills


PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of US GAAP including ASC 740.
  • Understanding of transfer pricing principles.
  • Knowledge of Netsuite an advantage.
  • Energy or energy storage business knowledge is an advantage
  • Ideally high energy, proactive, solutions-oriented contributor, possessing an intellectual curiosity and a “hunger for knowledge.”
