The Food Service Cashier provides cashiering duties for employees, visitors and staff. Additionally performs routine duties related to the preparation of and serving food to employees, visitors and patients. Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties.
This is a full-time, 32-hour per week position with competitive rates starting at $17/hr. Evening and weekend shifts receive a shift differential, and weekend shifts are required. You must be at least 16 years of age to apply for this position.
We are offering a $3,000 sign-on/retention bonus for this position. *The bonus is available for external hires only (or current D-H employees moving to a 30 - 40 hour per week position from a per diem role) and certain conditions apply.

Responsibilities
Performs cashiering duties which include cash transactions, credit card, debit card, and gift card processing.
Completes orders for replenishing coins and bills for the registers.
Performs procedures in any of the serving areas according to all State and Hospital guidelines, including serving and/or portioning the food, preparing items to order, informing/directing customers, as needed, performing cash and charge transactions and reconciling money.
Takes refrigeration, hot and cold food temperatures to assure proper storage and serving temperatures.
Cleans assigned areas/equipment following institutional standards.
Orders, collects and restocks food supplies in assigned areas.
Displays and labels food items using menu boards and table top signs.
Sweeps and mops, as needed.
May operate dishwasher or assists with washing/sterilizing equipment or supplies.
