About the role:

Foodsmart is seeking Registered Dietitians (RDs) to support the comprehensive nutrition care mission of Foodsmart Nutrition Network, which is grounded in removing the financial barriers in accessing and affording healthy food. Our Foodsmart RDs leverage Foodsmart's digital platform to provide a broad range of nutrition and health-related consultations, ultimately helping our members stretch their food dollar, eat healthier, and reduce the risk of chronic disease.


In this role, you'll have the ability to truly change the lives of the members we serve, many of whom are Medicaid members and from underserved communities. You will tackle the root causes of food and nutrition insecurity. This means that you will provide MNT in multiple capacities, including supporting your patient in accessing and using SNAP benefits, affording and buying groceries digitally on Foodsmart's marketplace, and building healthier eating and shopping habits for life. Foodsmart removes the barriers that prevent so many people from eating healthier--so that you, as an RD, can have a major impact on each and every member.


Role Expectations
  • You find value in developing lasting relationships with your patients, as clinically appropriate, to support them towards sustainable behavior change and improved health outcomes
  • Your patient satisfaction score, as measured by NPS, is high (>80)
  • You're passionate about improving access to healthy and affordable food


You will:
  • Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) via remote sessions to patients with a variety of health and lifestyle needs
  • Provide digital shop-alongs to help patients use their grocery money on Foodsmart's digital platform
  • Support your patient in completing regular nutrition assessments via Foodsmart's proprietary nutrition quiz
  • Document care in electronic medical record according to Nutrition Care Process
  • Manage a panel of clients/patients with a variety of chronic health conditions and backgrounds
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients/patients through HIPAA-compliant video and audio calls and electronic messaging


You are:
  • Proactive and act as an advocate for your customers 
  • Driven by Foodsmart's mission: you get satisfaction from helping Medicaid populations that are regularly underserved
  • Well-versed at nudging your patient from the "pre-contemplation" to "contemplation" stage and beyond
  • Excited about working in a start-up environment, where your feedback and insights can help drive improvements to our workflows
  • A self-starter with an independent approach, adept at learning new technologies
  • Successful at motivating patients to continue their care journey with you, supported by a strong clinical background and experience in motivational interviewing


You have:
  • Active credentialing as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and Licensed Dietitian
  • At least one state licensure and willingness to obtain more licenses in high demand states 
  • Ability to work in the U.S.


Role: Registered Dietitian

Level: 2+ years clinical experience

Location: Remote

Base Salary Range: $50,000/yr

Bonus: Flexible model based on performance (estimated on-target earnings are $3000-$8000 per quarter)

Required Hours: 40 hours of availability per week
